What to expect?
When you become a foster, we’ll start by matching you with a rescue who fits your lifestyle and experience. Please keep in mind that no dog will come to you perfect -- it will be a process but we aim to set you up for success by finding you the right match.
Once we agree on a dog or cat, you will be added to a Messenger group-chat, where foster coordinators will support you throughout the entire process. Many of these animals have never lived in a house before, so you’ll need to train them in basic skills. Don’t worry—we will provide detailed guidelines to help you with any challenges, be there when it is tough, and celebrate together when things go well!
We cover all vet bills and provide food, toys, a dog bed, and other essentials for your temporary family member. However, if you prefer to supply these items yourself, we are very appreciate of that as well.
Please remember that you are caring for someone else's future pet. While you may have your own methods for training, feeding, or caring for a dog, it’s crucial to follow the provided guidelines. This ensures the animal's well-being and prepares them for their new family. Your flexibility and adherence to these guidelines are key to helping the dog transition smoothly into their forever home.
